Health Achieving health and remaining healthy is an active process. Effective strategies for staying healthy and improving one's health to an optimum level include the many elements such as: general nutrition, sports nutrition, exercise, hygiene, stress management, health care, workplace wellness programs, and other issues. Within the My Health and Fitness website, we will introduce each of these subjects to you and cover them in great detail over time so that you will also be empowered to be your own health and wellness expert. You must remember that many doctors deal with ailments and are not very knowledgeable about subjects directly out of their field of expertise so, it is necessary for you to help yourself and your doctor by being as knowledgeable about health as you can. Knowledge of health will help you know why specific dietary aspects influence health, how food and dietary supplements affect physical performance, how to optimize energy levels and muscle tone, as well as why proper rest and recovery is an important health aspect. Without good health, even if you are physically fit, the body can exist in a semi-injured state and will not improve or adapt adequately to meet the stress and functions of life. My Health and Fitness will help you learn about the interdependencies of fitness, nutrition, training, and other areas that tie directly into your overall health and well being. There are many areas such as psychological compulsions (eating disorders such as exercise bulimia, anorexia, and other bulimia’s), misinformation, a lack of organization, or a lack of motivation that influence your health. These can all lead to a decreased state of health, but are difficult to calculate. |
