James Tindall, Ph.D., President & Founder, MyHealthandFitness
Dr. Tindall has been involved in fitness, health, nutrition, and training for over two decades. He has served in a variety of positions including vice president, chief technology officer, executive protection specialist (bodyguard), research scientist, consultant, and others. He holds Ph.D., M.A., M.S., and B.S. degrees. Dr. Tindall became extensively involved in nutrition while working with Drs Laren Robison and Lamont Smith during his M.S. degree. He developed nutritional programs for families and communities in Latin and South America that utilized small-scale agriculture systems which provided a year's supply of balanced nutrition from minimal resources. This work opened many avenues of exploration and assisting others. Then, with a burning passion for fitness since his military days he combined these ideas and founded MyHealthandFitness.com in the mid 1990s (the first "My" URL on the Internet, predating 'myspace.com' by several years) to empower people to become their own health, nutrition, and fitness experts. As one of the world's foremost experts in health, fitness, nutrition, and training he served on the Advisory Board for Muscle & Fitness Hers Magazine from January 2003 through December 2007. He recently completed the development of an exercise protocol for NASA and collaborating international astronauts for long-term space travel that helps maintain muscle mass and increased bone density in microgravity (a severe problem in long-term space travel) the research was a resounding success. Think what he can do for you! Dr. Tindall has served by invitation on various national panels, including the President's Initiative on Physical Fitness and regularly edits and reviews manuscripts and proposals from various scientific organizations including NASA, National Institute of Health, National Institute of Environmental Health Services, and others. In addition to working on the research components of health, nutrition, and fitness/exercise areas he avidly practices what he preaches. Dr. Tindall holds an 8th degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, as well as black belts in Kobudo, Shotokan, and Eishin-Ryu Iaijutsu and has competed professionally in decathlons and triathlons. In addition to developing exercise training protocols for NASA and long-term space travel, he has trained some of the very best elite professional athletes, competitive fitness and figure teams, bodybuilding competitors, and others. He is regularly sought out by military units to teach unarmed close-quarters combat and mental toughness. His unique programs surpass existing health and fitness regimens. Because of his business and professional backgrounds he frequently consults with corporate CEO's regarding strategy, both personal and business, economic issues, and large-scale systems that influence life in the areas of international security, which believe it or not, was a result of his initial training in fitness. In his words, "Everything you do in life revolves around your fitness and health level. Unfortunately, we tend to take it for granted until we develop a chronic health condition." Dr. Tindall trained with coaches E.J. "Doc" Kreis, Ed.D., Donnie Maib, and Dave Plettl at the University of Colorado Speed-Strength and Conditioning Department in Boulder for 10 years, exercising and training athletes from all sports. He has trained many notable athletes, including Carla Sanchez and her Performance Ready fitness and figure team for over two years, golfers, combat martial artists, law enforcement, hand-to-hand combat specialists, decathletes, marathon runners, rhythmic gymnasts, football players, and many other ball and speed athletes and, average Joes. Dr. Tindall maintains an active agenda and is currently writing a series of fitness and self-help books, not to mention the four fitness books (available in our store) that he has already written. He routinely assists novice and professional athletes and continues to share his extensive experience with the public. See him exercise here: Ballistic Push Up or Ballistic Depth-Jump Push Up.
Stacy picked up her first weight at the age of six, by emulating her father as he worked out in their basement. Being an only child, her parents kept her well-rounded in wide variety of activities. Among these were dance, gymnastics, and music. At first, Stacy’s passion was dance and gymnastics. In fact, she went so far as to gain acceptance into the Philadelphia Dance Company. However, she soon realized that her real passion was gymnastics. She continued to stick with it for eight years and also had the opportunity to move to Texas to train with Bela Karolyi. However, being the happy child she was and still wanting to play, Stacy declined in order to enjoy her childhood. When Stacy entered high school, she participated in track, soccer, softball, cheerleading, field hockey, and one and three meter springboard diving. Her interest in springboard diving enabled her to compete throughout high school and college. After graduating with a BA from Glassboro State, she still longed to be competitive in something. One day while working out in the gym, she spotted a poster for a fitness competition. Stacy decided to give it a shot because of her background in dance and gymnastics. In the beginning, she had no idea what was required for these competitions. In fact, rather than go through the typical lotion tanning that seasoned competitors perform as a ritual, Stacy sported a "farmer's tan" for her first competition, performed a 60 second routine, and some quarter turns. Needless to say, Stacy had a blast and was hooked on the thrill of renewed competition. Throughout the next year, she sought the help of John Kemper and her close friend (and mentor) Dennis Kirby. In 1997, Stacy placed 3rd in the NPC Nationals, earning her pro card. Stacy has been competing since and has placed well in many competitions, too many to list here. In 1998 she placed 3rd in the Jan Tana Fitness Classic, which qualified her for her first Fitness Olympia in which she placed 13th. She is a fierce competitor and has qualified for the Fitness Olympia for six consecutive years from 1998 through 2003. And, in 2004 she repeated that feat. Stacy placed first in the Hungary Pro Fitness competition and qualified for her 7th consecutive Fitness Olympia competition. She’s a great athlete! In addition to her own hectic training schedule, Stacy finds time to train her own pro fitness competitors and work as Director of Public Relations for My Health and Fitness, LLC.
