Dumbbell (DB) Side Bends

Stand with your feet slightly apart. The outside edges of the feet should be directly beneath the outside of your arms at the shoulders. Place your left hand behind your neck, holding a dumbbell in your right hand. Do not grab your neck with the hand, simply let it rest lightly against the back of the neck or side of your head.

1. Bend your torso to the left side as far as you can.

2. Return to the starting position for the next repetition.

3. When you have completed all the repetitions on this side, place the dumbbell in your left hand and repeat the same number of repetitions on that side.

Notes: This exercise works the external obliques and generally helps in trimming and tightening the waist.
